The Marshmellow Door Stop

A band who made a difference that premiered cutting edge and Avante Garde Rock and Roll was The Marshmellow Door Stop from Brentwood Long Island. The band lineup was Buddy Mazzio vocals,Tony Figueroa Bass guitar and vocals,Bob Honings Lead Guitar,Vinny Calcara drums,and Bob Sumners Organ and vocals.

The young dudes played not only the rocking Motown sound but had a penchant for Psychedelic,British Invasion but also loved to play the music of Long Island brother bands that had something to say, like: The Hassles, The Young Rascals, The Illusion. “The Marshmellow’s” also loved the “West Coast Sound; Tributing bands like “The Iron Butterfly”, The Jefferson Airplane even Kenny Roger’s First Edition hit “What condition my condition was in” and not to forget The Cream and Jimi Hendrix vehicles.

You could see them frequent places like “the Hullabaloo’s,The Factory,The Golden Pheasant,The My House,The Barge,Chaucer’s Ale House and many other venues and “happenings.
